What is the Wolf Scholars Program?

Wolf Scholars is a new full scholarship for students in the University of Toronto's Faculty of Arts & Science. The Wolf Scholars Program is not just a scholarship, it's a launchpad for life. Not only does this scholarship cover the full cost of tuition to the University of Toronto, but it also offers a meaningful living stipend, funded Canadian and international travel, access to top internship opportunities, exclusive academic seminars at the Munk School, leadership development, and more.

For its first cohort, Wolf Scholars will select 16 undergraduate students to become Wolf Scholars who will enter their first year of studies in September 2026.

Wolf Scholars will be critical thinkers and problem solvers, ready to tackle the opportunities and challenges facing their generation. The Wolf Scholars Program will be a launchpad to leadership, where a Scholar's curiosity, drive, and ambition can lead them anywhere, no matter their degree.

What does the Wolf Scholars Program include?

Wolf Scholars is a new scholarship program designed to develop Canada's next generation of thoughtful and ambitious leaders. Wolf Scholars will gain access to unique experiential learning opportunities that bring their classroom learning to life and connect their ideas to real-world impact.

Wolf Scholars' four years at one of the world's top universities will be unforgettable, filled with experiences that prepare you for life after graduation including:

  • Funded travel: Wolf Scholars will travel internationally as a cohort and with professors to the world's most interesting regions, including Asia and the Middle East. They will also travel within Canada to regions they may never have been to before, gaining new perspectives on the priorities of Canadians across the country.
  • Summer internships & career training: Scholars will be supported in securing meaningful internships at top organizations across business, politics, technology companies, and not-for-profits in the summer after their second year of university. They will be exposed to various paths post-graduation and will receive practical training in financial analysis and strategic thinking.
  • Exclusive academic seminars: Every year, Scholars will come together for an exclusive Academic Seminar taught by renowned professors at the Munk School of Public Policy & Global Affairs. Scholars will dive deep into history, leadership, ethics, and problem-solving.
  • Speaker series and leadership development: Wolf Scholars will meet distinguished leaders from business, government, tech, arts & culture, and foundations. Scholars will also share in leadership development programming throughout their four years that teaches the importance of focus, empathy, adaptability, and resilience.
  • Community and mentorship: During their four-year journey, they will connect with their fellow Scholars and mentors who will help them navigate university and the working world.

Eligibility & what we're looking for

The Wolf Scholars Program is looking for students who demonstrate a drive to build & lead, curiosity & intellectual engagement, and exceptional character. The Program seeks a holistic understanding of each applicant on top of their excellent academic record. There is not a typical Wolf Scholars candidate – the Program is looking for dedicated athletes, entrepreneurs, community leaders, and everything in between.

Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • You must currently be in your final year of secondary school or in your first or second year of Cégep and have not yet attended a post-secondary institution. If you've graduated from secondary school or Cégep within the last three years, you're still eligible – if you meet the additional requirements below.
  • You are a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident.
  • You must have a minimum cumulative 90% academic average in your last completed year of high school or Cégep. If you currently attend school outside of Canada, your transcripts will be reviewed using an equivalency framework based on a 90% average.
  • Upon entry to first year university (September 2026), you must be between 17 and 22 years old; born between September 1, 2004, and September 1, 2009.

How do I apply to be a Wolf Scholar?

The application process to be selected as a Wolf Scholar consists of four steps:

  1. Submit an online application to become a Wolf Scholar. Applications open September 8th, 2025, and close November 10th, 2025. Make sure to also apply to the University of Toronto Faculty of Arts & Science through the Ontario Universities' Application Centre by the early admission date November 7th, 2025.
  2. Semi-finalists will be invited to participate in an online interview taking place in mid-January.
  3. Finalists will attend Wolf Selection Weekend held at the University of Toronto in late February. Travel and accommodation are covered by the Wolf Scholars Program.
  4. Be chosen as a Wolf Scholar, accept your offer to the University of Toronto, and embark on a four-year journey that will shape your future.
